About the Event
Sadly, the Germantown community has been experiencing an alarming rise in antisemitism in 2023. The Germantown Community Coalition and Germantown Youth Futures believe in the power of education to address issues impacting our community.Â
We are co-hosting a special evening with invited guests from the Nathan and Ester Pelz Holocaust Education Resource Center (HERC) and the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) of Milwaukee Jewish Federation. Our featured speaker is Holocaust survivor Eva Zaret, who was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1936. Eva lived through the Holocaust in the Budapest Ghetto with her mother. After the war, she regained her health in the Carpathian Mountains with her family. On a trip into the city, her family was caught in the outbreak of the Hungarian Revolution, which she and her husband escaped on foot, eventually coming to the United States.
Join us to hear her story and learn about other resources HERC and JCRC have available to help us stand united against hate through education. We know together we can be a safe and welcoming community for ALL!Â

Designed for middle schoolers to adults, this program can be an excellent way for families to have important conversations about subjects that might not be easy for everyone to talk about.
