Hello! My name is Meghan DeChant, and I am the student representative for the Germantown Community Coalition. GCC held a Trivia Night fundraiser on Saturday, March 1, to raise money for students who represent GCC's values of kindness, inclusion, equity, and respect and who are a member of one of these Germantown High School clubs:
SAGE (Sexual and Gender Equality)
ACE (Asian Cultural Exchange)
BSU (Black Student Union)
MESA (Multi-Ethnic Student Association).
I attended the event with a team of high schoolers, and it was a great time! We didn't win; however, we did know most of the answers (which was a surprise), and we had amazing luck during the raffle, winning three baskets of LEGO sets, science kits, and cookware.
I definitely recommend the event for all ages, as we had a full house of many unique people. It was amazing to see so many people come together under the GCC's values and support our high schoolers who celebrate multicultural diversity, inclusion, and respect. This scholarship will mean so much for whoever earns it, and your contribution really does make an impact!
GCC would like to thank all of its members, donors, and attendees who helped make this event a success. Scholarship applications will be available in April, and we look forward to announcing the winners later this spring.
